Hello my old friend how’s it going? Seems like years have gone by the way you caught me smiling again been so long I don't know what to say but here you are standing underneath my overhang I've been feeling blue all day. But now it's yesterday again so come on in my old friend Hello my old friend how’s it going? since you been gone the sky ain’t been the same This town is stepping on my nerves - everyone's a little bit too lame. But take away the seasons and fill them up with rain Ain’t nothing they can say is gonna take away the moment when… the lights turn low and beverage flows and it’s just a matter of time ‘til everyone’s laughing 'bout everything that’s happened and I kick my heels back and wonder if the time has passed us by or circled back around again …my old friend. Hello my old friend how it going? Can’t remember much to complain You rolled my car and stole my shirt But still it’s good to see you just the same But here I am standing underneath my overhang and you just drove away and I can’t wait for the moment when… the lights turn low and beverage flows and it’s just a matter of time ‘til everyone’s laughing 'bout everything that’s happened and I kick my heels back and wonder if the time has passed us by or circled back around again …my old friend.

When my back is up against the wall and loneliness makes me stumble 'til I fall I can only hope for single ray of light cutting through the trees that obscure my sight In the final hours just before daybreak when we try to run from our every mistake nothing that you say is going to stop these winds blowing all the dust from all my sins It's too late for the tide to roll it's too late to avoid these heavy tolls and throw all our last possessions overboard I can only see for a minute or two pieces of me I left in you times the words cut to the bone everytime I left it better off alone Before everything slowly moves away time slips back like it's here to stay every little motion in your face reminds me nothing really changes anyway It's too late for the tide to roll it's too late to pay these heavy tolls and throw all our last possessions overboard It's times like these I hunger for a little rain to hide the tears I shed for you today to hold you in my arms for just a moment more I would hold you tight a never let you go I set out for New York on the evening train every little town I passed through looked the same but I can only hope to come back here someday and recognize it after all that's changed It's too late for the tide to roll it's too late to avoid these heavy tolls and throw all our last possessions overboard

In The Wind 03:41
Once I stood beyond the walls of this city no one ever bothered me there Too much of anything just leaves this strange taste but today I find it hard to care did you believe do you still grieve or are you struck by all that's left in the wind? Do you you follow it or does it follow you Once I drifted on top of this cloud the winds ripped a hole in the earth it left me so crumbled and cross I hardly ever thought I was there did you believe do you still grieve or are you struck by all that's left in the wind? Do you follow it or does it follow you?

Cold Brick 04:50
Cold brick back o' my neck only 'bout an hour got my vision back and I lay 'wake just a little bit more 'for I drag my ass up off the floor God Damn what happen' to me only went out to the alley to... piecing it all back together again got to get in from this rain Out of this rain cold brick beneath my feet lost a shoe and a half my seat stumble round back got hold this wall stop this spinning 'for I fall back down on the cold wet brick and the rain keep pourin' down whisky done robbed me of my name everything else done did the same I don't feel the same no more not the way I done before last night is comin' back to me like rain soaked through my bones

Spring 03:32
Walk along the river Will you think about me When the leaves begin To drift out to the sea It's been a while The autumn never seemed to end But in a little while the Spring will come again Opened up your letter yesterday And the words just seemed to fall right off the page What can I do? Time slips in and eats away the pain But just remember darling, the Spring will come again And someday soon you're gonna see me smile if only for a little while And we'll walk along the river little darling your hand in mine And we will not even worry 'bout the time how the ice and snow have grown since you've been away But with a little rain the Spring will come again

Awake 04:33
How do you do my friend before you pass my way again Please stop to say hello this time before you go To me she said these words, “A good deed is never undeserved” I said as my reply, “I wasn’t even asking why!” So we rolled on beneath the moon. The dust we’ve traveled on this lonely road keeps haunting every word you say every dream, every day I’m awake I asked the smiling man living alone in a rusty van “How do your kind survive?” He smiled again and offered no reply It’s true I’ve lost my way Ain’t nothing more I got to say I’ll get back on the road Before the winter winds begin to blow

Step Away 02:38
Don't mind about the wreckin' ball, boy just pick up your mess sometimes it's not who you are but how you dress well wait a minute son don't jump and run at the first sign of flame just tie your shoes and lick your brow and kindly step away Blue skies don't get me down, boy so why all that grey sometimes it's not where you are but what you say well don't come round an' bring me down I don't wanna share the blame so please turn off that broken smile and kindly step away You done 'bout wore me out conversation's getting thin sometimes it's not who you are but where you've been so what the hell's wrote on nose waivin' in freaks today? somebody jump in an' tag my hand so I can step away

Cruel Winter 05:13
I took a walk for a while came back in the cool spring rain discussed the state of the empire been a long, cool, cruel winter It take a cool soul to weather these waves and sometimes that's all we have but when I awake to see your face through pale blue colored eyes It's all I ever needed It's all that I can see through this fog and when the last of the waves have receded All I ever needed was you. She sits alone by the shore while the rain falls silently down when she was young she never thought she could be left behind still waiting after all this time Eyes still belie her smile and she's waiting for something to carry her dreams and it keeps her from dreaming. It's all I ever needed It's all that I can see through this fog and when the last of the waves have receded All I ever needed was you. Today is going to be a glorious day feel the rainfall on your skin what lies behind these heavy doors open up, let it all in But it takes a cool soul to weather these waves and sometimes fear's all we have but when I awake to see your face through pale blue colored eyes It's all I ever needed It's all that I can see through this fog and when the last of the waves have receded All I ever needed was you.

Water Rising 04:03
Look at the face It tells you every single thing you need It’s hard to place Reality gets tangled up in dream I can’t believe you wound up selling flowers on the streets Then again, you thought that it would happen to me. I can see the water rising high above the floor Just in time to open up and pull me out the door Until we breathe it’s just impossible to believe This moment has happened… Seems like last week I stumbled out in time to see you leave Let’s not forget a face can really show you what it means But time it passes so slow I can’t feel a thing But gravity reminds me
10.
The frost fills my morning shadows she greets me with her eyes wrapping me up in a sweet caress and a soft sensuous sigh magnetic rays attract and pull me to her side filling me up with a sweet perfume and taking me for a ride catch her sweet breeze as it whispers 'cross her glistening fields find me as I ride my shadow through the deep unreal her boundaries start to crumble sets me off inside and once again I trip and stumble as they begin to rise She keeps a velvet curtain wrapped around her heart she slips into the shadows before she feels that feeling start every time I try to find my way into her golden light she slams the door and leaves me locked out in the night The fire in the distance spreads its light across the water reflections melt the land into the night it's so easy to confuse what you can't see clearly It's hard to tell who's wrong or right
11.
I’ve walked that silent road As far as it will go So maybe I’ll Just walk away Into the woods so deep Just disappear Bury my head Under a stone The life that’s followed you is all you’ll ever own So take a chance Open your eyes Swallow your tears my dear Just disappear Slip ‘neath waves Sink like a stone And when this time is gone we will meet on the higher plain And walk that narrow course we’ve walked again and again It’s all for nothing if you won’t roll the dice so don’t be confused it’s all a ruse No one promised you’d win the fight 'Cause it's all worth nothing and I don't give a shit What you paid for it...
